Color vs Sepia

In September (yes I'm a little bit behind in the blogging world) the very talented Sally DeFord came over and took some fantastic photos of our little man. I still can't decide which print I like best.

Long Time no Blog

It's been a while since I last blogged. Here's a few highlights from the past months.

Weston absolutely loves summer. Not only does it mean a whole new world of outdoor play but it also means indulging in his favorite fruit....

Watermelon! If he had his way we would eat watermelon for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack.

In May, Teddy's Grandpa Art passed away. While we were in Denver for the funeral Weston had his first zoo experience. Grandpa Bob, Grandma Jean and Grandma Janet treated the three of us to a wonderful time. Weston loved it! I was amazed at his attention span; he was truly fascinated by the animals. His favorite was the reptile exhibit: snakes, lizards, fish, and bugs. (Ewwww!)
As you can see from the picture above, Weston would have been completely satisfied with simply chasing the free roaming geese and peacocks.
He certainly gave them a run for their money.
The Easter egg hung was a big hit this year. Weston loved it so much that for the following week or two it was the game to play. He would bring me his basket full of plastic eggs (plus cars, balls & trucks) demanding "more please". He would then sit on the couch impatiently while I hid everything. Everytime he found something he'd clap his hands. This game lasted for hours. What a fun boy!

1 year pictures

For Weston's 1st birthday we had his pictures taken professionally.

He wasn't too fond of the birthday cake.

We had to bury his pachee (binky) in the cake to get him to touch it again.
See what I mean?
Bear Bottoms
I love it!

Our Munchkin is 1

Our little man turned one today!
He has blessed our lives in so many ways.
As we reflect over the past year there are a few things we
always want to remember.
Daddy:
*His happy baby call "geahhhhhhh"
*His laugh when he sees me come home.
*How he cradles up to your should with his mouth opened wide,
leaving visible kisses on your shirt.
Mommy:
*How he wiggles like a worm in my arms when daddy tickles him.
*How he babbles to me when we're driving or reading.
*His morning salutation: standing on tip toes, chin barely clearing the crib railing, with the biggest grin EVER.
Oh, how we love him! Happy birthday Weston!
His birthday dinner: corn on the cob -- it's his new favorite

What a cute mess!

He's really "in" to his present.

Hide & Seek

This new job of being a domestic engineer (a.k.a. stay-at-home Mom) rocks! The first few weeks were an adjustment; I didn't quite know what to do with my time. Now I'm absolutely loving it. It has been so much fun getting to know Weston. He has the greatest little personality. This past week he started playing hide and go seek. We'll be in his room playing when he suddenly he'll "hide" under his night stand.
His feet give him away.

I'll call his name and his little legs will go stiff as he tries to hold as still as possible. For all of you who have met Weston you know that is challenge for him. When I lift up the sheet this is what I see:

Grins from ear to ear.
It's his new favorite game and he'll play as many times as you are willing to "go seek".

Internet!

We FINALLY have internet again. When we first moved in we were able to connect to our neighbor's wireless router but they moved out the day after I posted my last blog. We have been internetless since then. I never realized how much I depend on the web until I didn't have it.

Here's Weston's favorite mode of transportation.
He drives (I push) his car to the mailbox everyday.

I was cooking dinner one night when the house became too quiet. I followed the trail of toys and caught Weston red-handed. He had unrolled half the roll of toilet paper and was determined to get to the end of this round white mystery.

Lake Powell

We had a fantastic Olsen vacation in Lake Powell.
Our '08 company included: Dad & Mom, Grandpa & Grandma Olsen, Kyle, Shandel, Steffanie & Sam, Teddy, Weston & me. Dad rented a house boat, which we parked in Hanson Creek. We spent four days water skiing, tubing, wakeboarding, sunbathing, swimming and relaxing.
It was one of the best vacations EVER!
Teddy is the champ of tubing; he refuses to let go.Me on the other hand, I bail as soon as the wakes get big.
Here's my brother Kyle & Teddy on the tube.
They took the award for biggest wipeout.
The tube caught at least 3' of air and they both went flying.
Everyone in the boat was crying from laughing so hard.
Unfortunately the cameras were too slow to catch it.

Here's our little man testing out the water.

Am I suppose to like this Mom?

Okay, you convinced me...I like it!

Weston only liked the water when he was on shore. When we took him in the deep parts he wouldn't let go of us and would start crying. It was still a little cold for him. The water was about 70 degrees and it was rising a foot a day.

The only good part of wearing a life vest.

Weston's Favorite part of Lake Powell....

THE BELL!

I can do it by myself.

Did you hear that?

Thank you Dad & Mom and Grandpa & Grandma Olsen for treating us to such a great vacation!
